Repotting Chopsticks

from A$11.00

The method by which the substrate is inserted into the bonsai container is paramount to the quality of percolation. The correct shape and size of the chopstick must be used to move the substrate into place with minimal impact on the integrity of the particles.

The tapered shape on the front face of these chopsticks, combined with the flat surface of the opposing face, creates directional control over where the substrate goes. This, alongside the quality of the bamboo, is what sets the design of our chopsticks apart from a simple tapered stick.

Our chopsticks are handmade at our studio from quality thick bamboo. We split, shape, and contour our chopsticks to give you two sizes of tool for substrate insertion.

Large - This chopstick is ideal for the movement of substrate initially into the container. The broad head and thick body aid in efficiently filling space with particles. It is also practicall for big containers with lots of soil.

Small - This chopstick is used to create a much more controlled fill after the bulk fill has been completed. This stick is thinner with a slightly narrow head, enabling control and compaction of the substrate into every nook of the container and root ball.

Small - $11

Large - $11

2 pack - $21 (1 of each size)

4 pack - $40 (2 of each size)
