Styling and design services are available for structural and developmental work of raw material, repotting and handling of the root system, and refinement of developing or of already well-developed bonsai.

Bonsai maintenance & boarding
Receive a one-off seasonal maintenance session such as pruning, deadwood cleaning, or have us maintain your bonsai over an extended period to achieve high-level, professional results from your tree.
General Bonsai maintenance $80 / hr
Boarding
If having us maintain or develop your tree over time our Boarding service will apply. Additionally this boarding service is offered for short or long-term care while you are away, for over-wintering / or over-summering your tree in our cool-temperate climate of the Blue Mountains.
Boarding includes all watering, fertilisation and routine pest/disease management. Your tree will be housed in its Ideal climate conditions on the bench to suit the trees needs.

Exhibition service
We provide expert preparation, transport, and set-up of trees and their displays on your behalf for shows such as the Bonsai Open. Exhibition preparation is not a styling, but rather a fine-tuning to make sure your tree its most ready for presentation.
Preparation can also include advisory consultation of your complete exhibit including accompanying elements such as stands and accent plants.

Table & Kusamono Rental
As part of our exhibition service, we offer rental of tables and accent plants/kusamono for your exhibit.

Lectures, Presentations & Demonstrations
Hugh has a long-standing history of presenting bonsai knowledge and appreciation. Having presented at many major events across the county and abroad, Hugh has gained a reputation as both an educator and a voice for the utilisation of Australian native trees as bonsai. In both broadening the scope of species used and communicating responsive techniques and aesthetics.
As an institutionally trained Fine Artist, Hugh can adapt and conceptualize bonsai knowledge in a range of formats and a diversity of forums.

Curation & Collaboration
Create a contemporary atmosphere using bonsai trees as the medium.
Art galleries, corporate events, and pop-up installation spaces, Hugh has experience curating creative exhibitions, including trees in indoor spaces. Hugh’s work has sat amongst photography, sculpture, and other realms of the Fine Art canon building a comprehensive sensitivity to curation and display. Be it designing a show, creating an exhibit, or curating a space, Hugh can appropriately present trees to enhance any space.
