Akadama
Kobayashi Akadama 14L
Imported from Japan, this Akadama is a premium substrate. It is used as the bulk component for other substrate mixes. Akadama provides a high cation exchange for nutrient availability and water retention/availability. It acts as a surface medium for roots to enter and divide, creating a dense, healthy root system.
Note: This product is already Screened, though dust may need to be sieved out before use.
For use in any Bonsai substrate, mixed or used straight.
If using akadama as a straight medium, we recommend potting any high metabolising and water-using species such as broadleaf species, deciduous, and highly metabolic conifers such as larch, redwood, taxodium, etc.
