New to bonsai or want to understand how our methodology of Bonsai at TreeMakers?
The Introduction to bonsai course will start new bonsai practitioners on the right foot or will enable a seasoned practitioner to access our approach to technique and theory that we heavily rely on at Tree Makers.
What is covered in our one-day introductory program
What is bonsai and how to approach the practice
Understanding the stages of bonsai development
Bonsai design fundamentals - “The Bonsai Blue Print”
Horticultural basics - Including watering, root health, and understanding vascular physiology as applied to bonsai cultivation
Tools of the trade
Introduction to shaping using practical wiring and pruning techniques
Each student will have the opportunity to work on a starter tree that you will take home.
For those more adventurous you will have the opportunity to work on another tree. Making branch selections and wiring out the structure (this tree can be purchased for an additional $75 to take home and continue practicing techniques on)
No tools or materials are required

Optionally Catered lunches are $25 per day.
Cancellation Policy: In the event of cancellation a 50% refund can be issued up to one month prior to course date. If within one month of class date no refund can be issued.
